Who’s Got Text?
The NCAA’s experiment with text messaging and college basketball recruiting is bound to fail miserably, but in the meantime, high school players need to aggressively get their digits into coach’s cell phones.
Division I and II mens college basketball coaches are now allowed to send unlimited texts to high school athletes they are recruiting who have finished their sophomore year. Other sports will follow if the rule works. It’s hard to imagine anything but distracting, non-stop vibrating cellies for all the top recruits. College coaches will figure out a way to get the phone numbers of the top players. Everybody else needs to email their contact info to the coaching staffs at the schools they are interested in.
